Love in Los Angeles

We often forget to stop and appreciate how far we’ve come in our journeys, thinking of what’s next and what more we can do to get to where we want to be. The milestones we reach are celebrated briefly before moving on and planning for the next step we want to reach. “Love in Los Angeles” is a photo series about pausing and taking a step back to admire the work we have done, tuning out what more we have to do and what others might be accomplishing in their lives. I am grateful for how far I’ve come in my own photography journey. I’m celebrating the love I have for the art, for the places I’ve seen, and the people I have photographed, and I am thankful for my supportive friends and family. I’m always so quick to compare myself to other creatives, that I forget to recognize my own growth throughout the years.

This shoot was the result of a full day spent in the busy city of Los Angeles, appreciating places previously unexplored and focusing on creating art. I love how the light changes as the day progresses into night and adds nuances to each picture. We shot at a parking structure in Little Tokyo and a bridge, and we were even lucky enough to capture a passing metro in the background of one of the photos! The city offers so many unique and stunning photo locations, I cannot wait to continue to explore downtown and to grow as a photographer.
