SUBMIT YOUR WORK.

Although we prioritize the marginalized stories of BIPOC youth, women, genderqueer and non-binary folks, we are inclusive to the LGBTQ+ community.

We accepting the following →

  • Please pitch before you submit any written pieces. State ‘Pitch: [topic]’ in the subject line. Check our Guidelines below for more information. Once approved, you may submit your work in a Google document only.

Prepare to provide a detailed description (250-300 words) for all poetry submissions once your pitch is approved.

Note: Must be unpublished. Writing is encouraged to a maximum of 2,000 words only.

  • Please send your art via Google Drive or WeTransfer with a title and a detailed description (250-300 words) for your submission.

Note: Please don’t send individual links per image. Zip files are preferred.

If you’re interested in joining our team as a remote illustrator (as we love accompanying illustrations with our written pieces) please email Ann personally at ann@isamagazine.com.

  • Photo Journal submissions can include up to 15 images sent via Google Drive or WeTransfer link, along with a title and detailed description (250-300 words) for your submission.

Note: Please don’t send individual links per image. Zip files are preferred.

  • We love seeing unique short films or videos! Send us an unlisted link with a title and a full detailed description (250-300 words).

    • You don’t need experience to submit to us. We love giving individuals the opportunity for their first published work!

    • Topics of interest include activism, books, culture, film, mental health, music, and anything else that comes to mind. We are very open-minded and will accept almost anything.

    • As we are starting out, we are entirely volunteer powered and are a labour of love. Unfortunately, we do not offer monetary compensation at this time.

    • What we can presently offer is the gift of experience and a media platform to amplify your voice.

Submission Guidelines

To submit, please email us at submit@isamagazine.com. We will get back to you within 1–5 business days.

  • We only accept submissions from creatives aged 14 and up.

If under 18 years old, please have your parent/guardian permission, and provide their email.

    • Introduce yourself and include pronouns.

    • Have a title and description for your submission. Your pitch should explain your piece from start to finish, and shouldn’t be very long (a detailed paragraph at best).

Please include your name, age, location, Instagram handle and/or website, if you would like.

  • You have the go-ahead to write! Deadlines will usually be in 2-3 weeks, but very flexible to your timeline.

Your writing must not exceed 2,000 words. Please send it to us through a Google document.

For all written pieces, please provide HD pictures you would like to attach to your piece – if not, we can find some for you. Also include the links of where you found the images.

Final drafts will be read and edited by Isa’s Founding Editor, Ann Villegas. Submissions with minor errors and revisions will be directly edited and published. Submissions that require feedback will be sent back with suggestions before being published.

Note: We don't always accept submissions, but please don’t be discouraged. It just means that this particular submission wasn't the right fit for Isa. We would love to hear each and every idea you have, so keep submitting!
