“Not Another Headline, The Human Toll” is a photo series created by photographer Mecoh Bain that challenges people to think critically about the media they’re consuming and the relationships they have with the articles, language, subjects, and images. Further, Mecoh confronts the influence media has on our identities and the emotional trauma and "baggage" it leaves, impacting our connection to yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Mecoh Bain

Mecoh Bain (she/her/@mecohbain) is a freelance photographer whose work is largely informed by her experience as a bi-racial woman. Her style focuses on storytelling, through evoking emotion, colour, and clean lines. As a woman of colour Mecoh feels the responsibility to shift the narrative and bring diversity and representation of BIPOC and LGBTQ2IA+ communities to the forefront of contemporary art and photography.
