The Picnic I Never Had

As we are officially in the third lockdown of this never-ending pandemic, many of my plans have vanished in the early morning fog. I had plenty of exciting plans prior to lockdown, and one of them was to have a picnic with one of my friends as I didn't see her for a very long time. We planned this picnic because I realized I never had a nice picnic before so when my friend suggested I plan a picnic based on my “dream picnic”, I couldn’t resist!

Unfortunately, the picnic will have to wait, but this sadness I felt made me think about showcasing my dream picnic in a still life photography project. By playing around with fake food which I created with some colourful dough, and to show that all this was an unfulfilled dream, I used a lens filter for the foggy effect. I hope this project reminds everyone to always protect each other - to social distance and wear our masks - and the sooner we act, the closer we’ll get back to normalcy.
